Astronomy is transitioning to large-scale projects that involve a large number of researchers from different countries, with world-class facilities shared among member nations. This presentation will focus on the advantages offered by such large astrophysical infrastructure, and in particular, advancing the initiative recently renewed, of Israel joining the European Southern Observatories (ESO). In this presentation, we will outline the expected benefits for academic research, industry, and the international profile of Israel.
