Improbable Research and the ig Nobel Prizes

  Marc Abrahams
Ig Nobel

The Ig Nobel Prize ceremony has presented ten prizes every year since 1991, for achievements that make people LAUGH, then THINK. The magazine Annals of Improbable Research highlights research that has that same dual quality. Both the ceremony and the magazine are descended from pioneering work, in Israel in the 1950s, by biologist Alexander Kohn and physicist Harry Lipkin. Marc Abrahams, editor of the magazine and founder of the Ig Nobel ceremony, will discuss all this, and entertain hostile questions.
