and  Prof. Nir Davidson)
For his innovative work on the effects of atomic motion and
collisions in electromagnetically induced transparency systems.

The 2009 IPS Fraenkel Prize for a Graduate Student in Particle Physics,
Nuclear Physics and Astrophysics is awarded to:

Mr. Kfir Blum of the Weizmann Institute (supervisor Prof. Yoseph Nir)
For his contributions to the understanding of how theories that go
beyond the standard model of particle physics, and that will soon to
be explored at the LHC experiments, affect the cosmological puzzles
of baryogenesis and of dark matter.

The 2009 IPS Ilse Katz Prize for a Graduate Student in Nano Science is
awarded to:

Mr. Dov Steiner of the Hebrew University (supervisor Prof. Oded Millo)
For his scanning tunneling studies of hybrid semiconductor
nano-crystal systems.
